Title： Applications of Deep Learning in Aquaculture
Abstract: China is the largest country in aquaculture all over the world. The production of China's aquaculture has changed from extensive model to intensive model, and the production level has been continuously improved. However, low production efficiency and resource utilization have severely limited the rapid development of China's aquaculture industry. On the other hand, as a breakthrough in artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning(DL) is demonstrating outstanding performance in many fields, such as computer vision, speech recognition, natural language processing, and robotics. We think that deep learning is a promising method to realize smart aquaculture, which will be able to improve production efficiency and resource utilization. This presentation will introduce some DL-based approaches for smart aquaculture, including object detection for live seafood in real world, biomass estimation, fish behavior quantification, collective motion for fish school, and so on.
Lin Yuanshan, Ph.D., associate professor, graduated from the School of Computer Science and Technology, Dalian University of Technology. "Thousand" level of Liaoning Province's Hundred Thousand Talents Project, Dalian Youth Science and Technology Star, Dalian Young Talent, and a member of Dalian Industrial Informatization Expert Advisory Committee. His research interests are machine learning and robot motion planning. In recent years, taking mobile robots and underwater robots as examples, he has carried out research on path planning, 3D simulation and machine learning, and presided over 1 project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and 2 projects of the Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China. Projects, 2 projects of the Provincial Department of Education, 1 project of Dalian Youth Science and Technology Star; participated in 1 municipal scientific research project, and 2 horizontal projects; During the doctoral period, he led the team to carry out 6 enterprise cooperation projects as a technical leader. In recent years, he has published nearly 20 papers as the first author or corresponding author, of which 6 papers were retrieved by SCI and 10 papers were retrieved by EI; 2 papers were awarded the provincial first prize, 6 software copyrights were applied, and 3 invention patents were authorized.
